Going Home...
The debt has been cancelled :)
I have inner peace now.
It is very hard to live when you are in debt with you, when you have a pending dream.
An overseas trip was that for me.
I have been dreaming ten years about it. Finally, I got what I wanted.
It is like what Steve Jobs said: the dots always connect, but you can only connect them looking backwards, not looking forward.
Looking backwards allows me to understand why I kept studying English during all this time, why I got my degree in International Relations, why I studied so hard that I became the first student in my class only to get an scholarship and finally why I won it. Those were my dots and now they have a meaning, they are connected.
I went to Canada. I studied English. I met wonderful people there. I did more than I could imagine. I fulfilled my dream.
I am in peace now.
The debt I had with me has been cancelled.
It’s time to dream again.
Dots, Love, Death and Hunger
1. Connecting Dots
Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.
2. Love and Loss
Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.
3. Death
Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
4. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.
When I was young, there was an amazing publication called The Whole Earth Catalog, which was one of the bibles of my generation (…) On the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous. Beneath it were the words: "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." It was their farewell message as they signed off. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. And I have always wished that for myself. And now, as you graduate to begin anew, I wish that for you.

I will miss Toronto too...7 days remaining... What a mixed feeling...
I miss Argentina. I miss my family, friends, apartment… However, in 7 days from now I will be missing Toronto too. How Can I explain how I feel? It’s so difficult…
I hate to say good bye. That always makes me feel sad. I prefer to say “See you soon” or “We will meet again soon”, instead. At least, there is a little space for hope in those two phrases.
Someone told me that “No feast in life lasts for ever”…or “when a door shuts, there is a window that opens”… or “after an arrival there is a new departure”…
I don’t know… Toronto has been so kind to me. Its people, its places, its languages… not its weather… I will miss speaking in English everyday, I will miss riding the TTC and reading the Metro Newspaper, and I will miss taking a cup of tea at Tim Hortons or Starbucks…
There is a phrase that always makes me feel better when I am in this situation and I repeat it many times to myself…
“Don’t be sad because it’s over; be happy because it happened to you”.
Toronto, see you soon... I’ll be back (someday)

And then you have three steps:
- Cook the rice
- Chop all the vegetables
- Put everything in the seaweed and Roll it!
It is no as easy as it looks like, but with a little bit of practice you can improve the technique!

Glendon Campus...It's feels like "I'm still a York Student"

I went to visit York University Glendon Campus today. It brought me so good memories. I will always feel as a York University Student and I will always be grateful to it because of the opportunity it gave me.
I wanted to know this campus before I go back to my country. I have only ten days more here L. I studied at Keeles Campus, in the northbound of Toronto. Steels and Keele Street. But Glendon Campus it is located in the other side of the city. Not in the west but in the east, near Saint Lawrence Subway Station and it is completely different. It looks likes an “oasis” of peace and beauty in the middle of the city.
Glendon Campus was the first Campus of York University that is why it is so important. It is full of story. It is where the entire story began. It was officially opened in 1966 and the guest of honour was the Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson (someday I will write about him). The land where Glendon Campus is situated belonged to Edwards Rogers Woods, a business man, exotic trees collector and education passionate. He donated this property to York University in the 1950s.
Glendon Campus is a beautiful natural setting with an elegant mansion in its centre. It is full of green colour, peace and serenity. Without doubt, the best environment to study and create you career.
Comparing with Keele’s Campus, Glendon Campus is small. However, this characteristic make it more personalized, in others words, the relationship between students and professor is closer. And there is another important thing to highlight about Glendon: it is a bilingual campus: French is spoken as well as English.

Taste of Little Italy... Parliamo italiano?
Parliamo italiano???
Io sono italiana ma io non parlo niente l’italino. Io parlo l’espagnole e l’englese
Ma me piace molto mangiare la pasta e la pizza.
Io quero parlare esta bella lingua.
I went to “The Taste of Little Italy” Festival last Friday. The Italian community is very big in Toronto and they have they own distinctive area in the intersection of Bathurst and College Street.
I was born in Argentina, in Santiago del Estero. But my great grand parents were born in Italy. Since this country considers that Italian is the one who has Italian blood, I am Italian too. I got the double citizenship last year. So, now I am Santiaguenia, Argentinean and Italian.
However, I feel a little ashamed when I say that I can’t speak a single word in Italian. In fact, I studied Italian one year but it is not enough, I know. However, I love Italian culture; I love pizza, pasta and the tarantella. Hahaha. Moreover, my favourite films is Italian. I can watch again and again “Cinema Paradiso”, “Il Postino” and “La vitta e bella” with the famous phrase "Buongiorno Princepessa”.
I would love to visit the city where my great grand parents were born. One day I will go to Italy but from now just take a look at “Little Italy” and its Festival in Toronto.

The Magazine
Can Fit Pro Magazine can be compared with “Cuerpo y Mente” Magazine in Argentina. However, the Canadian magazine seems to be more focus in the professional job of the fitness instructors and personal trainers. They recognize the activity as “a business”, so there are many articles about marketing, retention and new trends.
Thanks to Julia Hui, from Can Fit Pro, I got the last 3 issues of the magazine. From the last issue, I liked the section “Ask the Experts” and this particular question: What is the best advice or inspirational quote you can offer to group fitness instructors?
The answer:
“No matter what you do or where you do it, always do your best” Colin Miller.
‘Keep moving on. Sometimes, the only way you can move forward and upward in your industry if you let go of the past” Len Kravits.
And what a coincidence! Today I checked the last issue of “Cuerpo y Mente” and in the from page Daniel Ibaniez said: “Motivar, la ley primera del entrenamiento” (Motivation, the first law in training).
It is true. However, I think that “motivation” is the first and the best rule in any field of Life.

Parliament Building

I made a new friend. Her name is Luna. She is from Korea.
We are sitting were the members of the Parliament are supposed to have sit.
The hot weather here reminds me to wear sunscreen and the sunscreen reminds me this song:
Wear sunscreen.
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience. I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. Oh, never mind. You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they've faded. But trust me, in 20 years, you'll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked. You are not as fat as you imagine.
Don't worry about the future. Or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind, the kind that blindside you at 4 p.m. on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing every day that scares you.
Sing.
Don't be reckless with other people's hearts. Don't put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Floss.
Don't waste your time on jealousy. Sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind. The race is long and, in the end, it's only with yourself.
Remember compliments you receive. Forget the insults. If you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters. Throw away your old bank statements.
Stretch.
Don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do with your life. The most interesting people I know didn't know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives. Some of the most interesting 40-year-olds I know still don't.
Get plenty of calcium. Be kind to your knees. You'll miss them when they're gone.
Maybe you'll marry, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll have children, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll divorce at 40, maybe you'll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary. Whatever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much, or berate yourself either. Your choices are half chance. So are everybody else's.
Enjoy your body. Use it every way you can. Don't be afraid of it or of what other people think of it. It's the greatest instrument you'll ever own.
Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room.
Read the directions, even if you don't follow them.
Do not read beauty magazines. They will only make you feel ugly.
Get to know your parents. You never know when they'll be gone for good. Be nice to your siblings. They're your best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go, but with a precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle, because the older you get, the more you need the people who knew you when you were young.
Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard. Live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Travel.
Accept certain inalienable truths: Prices will rise. Politicians will philander. You, too, will get old. And when you do, you'll fantasize that when you were young, prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders.
Respect your elders.
Don't expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund. Maybe you'll have a wealthy spouse. But you never know when either one might run out.
Don't mess too much with your hair or by the time you're 40 it will look 85.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia. Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
But trust me on the sunscreen.
Extreme Heat Alert and The Cooling Center... Cool!
Toronto Public Health has declared an Extreme Heat Alert for Toronto today, Monday June 9, 2008.
Under an earlier heat alert system, the City of Toronto called an alert when the "humidex" exceeded 40°C for two or more consecutive days. The humidex was devised by Canadian meteorologists to combine temperature and humidity into one number to reflect the perceived temperature.
Heat Alerts and Extreme Heat Alerts are called when an oppressive air mass is forecast, and the likelihood of deaths may increase due to high temperatures and other factors. During an Extreme Heat Alert there may be more weather-related deaths because the heat has become more severe or is lasting longer.
When a Heat Alert is called, Toronto's Response Plan triggers the following actions:
- more than 900 individuals and community agencies work with vulnerable populations;
a 12-hour help line answers heat-related inquiries from the public and responds to requests; - emergency preparedness is enhanced, as required for any other alert or emergency response (e.g., ambulance, police);
- delivery of bottled water is coordinated for vulnerable groups.
In addition, when an Extreme Heat Alert is called:
- recreational facilities extend their hours of operation;
- community cooling centres are opened and transportation to these centres is provided, as required

Welcome to The Bata Shoe Museum
Discover the treasures of North America's charming and surprising shoe museum. Hundreds of shoes (from a collection numbering over 10,000) are on exhibit in architect Raymond Moriyama's award-winning four-storey structure. The Museum celebrates the style and function of footwear in four impressive galleries. Footwear on display ranges from Chinese bound foot shoes and ancient Egyptian sandals to chestnut-crushing clogs and glamourous platforms. Over 4,500 years of history and a collection of 20th-century celebrity shoes are reflected in the semi-permanent exhibition, All About Shoes. Three other galleries feature changing exhibitions, so there's always something new to see.
